A mosaic depicting the abduction of the princess Europa can be found at Lullingstone Roman Villa, east of London. The Villa, built around 80–90 AD, is situated in the Darent river valley, a tributary of the River Thames. Sometime early in the 5th century a fire destroyed the building and it was abandoned and forgotten until its excavation in the mid 20th century.
